About the Event
In honor of Native American Heritage Month, AAUW WCU invites you to attend a panel presentation on Cherokee Culture, Heritage, and Life. Our esteemed panelists will share their own insights, truths, perspectives through educational, health, cultural arts, lenses—an opportunity to learn and grow as well as celebrate life in Western North Carolina, our 2024-2025 campus theme.
Panelists include Shannon Swimmer, Director of the WCU Cherokee Center, Samantha Crowe-Hernandez, Teacher at Cherokee Elementary School, Lisa Lefler, Director of the Culturally Based Native Health Program at WCU, and Amanda McCoy, Assistant Manager of the Qualla Arts and Crafts Mutual, Inc.
